Learn how DriveFinder protects your data and respects your privacy
Effective Date: May 1, 2025
Insquad DriveFinder is a Chrome Extension that helps users search and retrieve documents stored in their own Google Drive. Your privacy is important to us, and we are committed to protecting your data and providing a secure experience.
What We Collect
We use Google Sign-In for authentication purposes only, so you can securely access your Google Drive files.
We only access your Google Drive file metadata (file names, types, dates) to perform searches. We do not access or store the actual content of your files.
Basic usage analytics may be collected anonymously to help us improve the extension functionality.
Important: DriveFinder operates entirely through your browser. We never store your files or credentials on our servers. Your data stays private and secure.
How We Use Your Data
We use your data locally in your browser to help you search your Google Drive documents more efficiently.
No personal data, search history, or file content is stored on our servers or shared with third parties.
Any preferences or settings are stored locally in your browser using secure storage methods.
Third-Party Services
DriveFinder integrates with the following Google APIs to provide core functionality:
Google Drive API - to search and retrieve your file metadata
Google Identity Services - for secure authentication
These are official APIs provided by Google and comply with their security practices and privacy policies.
Data Security
All communication between our extension and Google APIs is encrypted using industry-standard HTTPS protocols.
We implement OAuth 2.0 for authentication, ensuring your Google credentials are never exposed to us.
We regularly update our extension to address any security vulnerabilities.
Data Storage
DriveFinder minimizes data storage as much as possible:
User preferences and settings are stored only in your browser's local storage.
Recent search queries may be temporarily cached in your browser for performance reasons but are not transmitted to our servers.
No data is stored externally on our infrastructure.
Your Rights
As a DriveFinder user, you have the right to:
Revoke access to your Google Drive at any time through your Google Account settings
Clear all locally stored data by uninstalling the extension
Request information about any data we might have collected about your usage
Policy Updates
We may update this privacy policy from time to time. When we do, we will revise the "Effective Date" at the top of this page and notify users about significant changes when you next use the extension.
